This species of kelp (Ascophyllum nodosum) grows only in deep ocean waters and isn’t exposed to the same toxins that off-shore kelp may be exposed to. Kudzu is well known to be the bane of the American South. This kudzu (Pueraria lobata) however is grown wild in China, and an extract used in the capsules which contains at least 1 mg of Daidzin per 150 mg of extract in each capsule.

Licorice root (Glycyrrhiza glabra) is a perennial plant with spikes of pale blue flowers that has a 3000 year history of medicinal and food use. Each capsule contains 450 mg of licorice root.

Marshmallow is certified organically grown by Trout Lake Farm in Washington State and only roots that are at least two years old are used to reap the maximum benefits. Each capsule contains 455 mg of marshmallow (Althaea officinalis) root.

Parsley is native to Europe and grown in North America for Nature’s Way. Parsley caps (Petroselinum crispum) are a rich source of vitamins A and C as well as chlorophyll, each capsule contains 450 mg of parsley herb. Parsley was included in the US Pharmacopoeia until the early 1900’s when it was replaced by pharmaceutical drugs.

Pau d'Arco also called Lapacho tea, capsules are made with 505 mg of the inner bark of the Brazilian pau d’arco tree (Tabebuia impetignosa). Nature’s Way uses only the purple flowering variety of tree from plantations in Brazil.

Red Rasberry capsules are made with 345 mg of European select red raspberry leaves (Rubus idaeus) per capsule. The astringent leaves of the raspberry plant have long been a popular tonic for women.
